Senior Colonel Nguyen Thai Duong hands over national flags to local fishermen.

In the framework of the program, a delegation of the Coast Guard Region 4, led by its Deputy Political Commissar Senior Colonel Nguyen Thai Duong, visited and presented Tet gifts to local authorities and military units stationed on the island; offered gifts to 45 policy households, needy fishermen, and ten poor students with good academic outcomes.

The delegation also disseminated law to nearly 150 fishermen; handed over 300 national flags, 30 photos of Uncle Ho, and 30 medical boxes; distributed 500 leaflets to trawlers anchoring at Bai Thom commune fishing port; and attended the “Military-civilian Tet” conference in 2024.

Members of the unit’s youth and women unions participated in a contest to make Tet cakes and decorate a five-fruit tray held by local authorities.

Senior Colonel Nguyen Thai Duong noted that via these activities, the unit hoped to educate local  people about the importance of preserving and promoting national traditions during Tet festival, while raising the public awareness of the national sovereignty over sea and islands, as well as law on sea and islands, ensuring social welfare in the area, and at the same time enhancing the military-civilian ties.
