The statement was made by a representative of the Department of Policies under the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army at a reception for a delegation of national contributors from Can Tho city on May 17.

He added that troops will promote unity, boost the glorious traditions of the nation and the army, firmly protect the national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and actively help locals improve their living standards and overcome consequences of natural disasters.

According to the head delegate, over the past time, Can Tho city has issued policies to take better care of those who rendered good services to the nation. As a result, all the national contributors in the city have been granted health insurance cards. Hundreds of houses of gratitude were built to ease housing difficulties of the contributors.

Furthermore, the city has been active in mobilizing organizations and individuals to take care of Vietnamese heroic mothers and provide assistance to contributors, raising their living standards.
