The statement was made by a representative from the Department of Policies under the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army at a reception for a delegation of national contributors from Kien Giang province on April 26 in Hanoi.

He promised that troops will promote unity and the nation’s glorious revolutionary tradition to firmly protect national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, actively help locals eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, and overcome natural disaster consequences.

Over the past time, the Mekong Delta province has taken good care of those who rendered good service to the nation. Particularly, the province issued many policies to take good care of wounded soldiers, families of fallen soldiers, Vietnamese heroic mothers, and revolution contributors. Last year, the province provided housing assistance for more than 4,000 national contributors. In the first quarter of this year, around 2,000 houses were built and repaired with financial assistance from the State and province. Furthermore, the province actively mobilized organizations and individuals to take care of Vietnamese heroic mothers.

On the occasion, the representative of the department handed over the Ministry of National Defense’s gifts to the delegates.
