This is part of the activities to mark the 70th Vietnamese Wounded and Fallen Soldiers' Day (July 27, 1947 - 2017).

On the same day, Gen. Lich and the delegation had a working session with the Standing Board of the Quang Tri provincial Party Committee on socio-economic development and national defense and security and Party building of the locality.

Secretary of the Quang Tri provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Hung gave a brief overview of the provincial activities to mark the 70th Vietnam Wounded and Fallen Soldiers' Day. Accordingly, the province has built hundreds of houses and presented gifts to more than 2,000 national contributors.

At the event, the Standing Board of the Quang Tri provincial Party Committee also defined 2017 as the year of administrative reform to create favorable conditions for investors. So far, there have been three major projects granted with investment licenses, including a thermoelectric plant, My Thuy seaport and a wind power plant. 

Quang Tri’s budget collection is expected to increase by 17 percent in 2017 compared with the previous year. Especially, the province will focus on promoting defense-security situation and improving the quality of military training.

Speaking at the working session, Gen. Lich expressed his emotion when visiting to the old battlefield and highly appreciated great efforts of the local leaderships and people in Quang Tri province in socio-economic development and military training.

On behalf of the Ministry of National Defense and officers and soldiers in the whole army, Gen. Lich expressed thanks to the provincial leadership and people for their good care for policy beneficiaries’ families and national contributors in particular and gratitude activities in general.
