Defense Minister commemorates late generals
PANO – A delegation from the Central Military Commission (CMC) and Ministry of National Defense (MND), led by General Ngo Xuan Lich, member of the Politburo, the CMC’s Deputy Secretary and the Defense Minister, on July 20, offered incense to General Vo Nguyen Giap at his house at 30 Hoang Dieu Street, prior to the Day for Wounded and Fallen Soldiers.

Delegates bowed their heads showing deep respect for the first Commander-in-Chief and Big Brother of the Vietnam People’s Army, who had made great contributions to the national revolutionary cause and the growth of the Vietnam People’s Army.
The Defense Minister talked with and inquired after General Vo Nguyen Giap’s family members and listened to stories about their lives and work.
Also in the morning, the delegation offered incense and paid homage to late generals Nguyen Chi Thanh, Chu Huy Man, Van Tien Dung, and Doan Khue at their families. Delegates expressed gratitude to late military leaders for their great contributions to the Party’s revolutionary cause and the building of the heroic Vietnam People’s Army.
On behalf of the delegation, General Lich also wished the generals’ families good health.
