The event was part of the activities to mark the 92nd anniversary of foundation day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - 2022).
At the event, Dak Tieng Ko Tu hamlet’s representative briefed participants on the locality’s outcomes in carrying out the patriotism emulation movement in 2022.
97% of the hamlet’s population is Jo Ngao ethnic minority people. Local people still depend primarily on agricultural production. Over the past time, under the timely direction of local Party Committees and authorities at all levels, people in the hamlet have strictly observed the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies and laws, effectively participated in emulation movements, concentrated on production to raise their living standards, actively preserved and promoted national cultural tradition, and maintained security.
At the event, Defense Minister Phan Van Giang congratulated leaders and people of Dak Tieng Ko Tu hamlet on the great national unity festival. The defense leader said that great national unity is a major guideline and policy of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh to maximize the strength of the whole nation. Over the past years, the great national unity day has been held in residential areas, contributing to new-styled rural area and civilized city building and sustainable poverty reduction.

General Phan Van Giang was delighted at the historical, revolutionary, and cultural tradition as well as the achievements that the party committee, government, military and people of Kon Tum province have achieved in the construction and development. Notably, despite many difficulties, Kon Tum province has implemented and comprehensively completed socio-economic, cultural development and national defense and security consolidation goals set for 2022. The province has obtained positive results in law dissemination to encourage local people to abide by the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws.
The defense minister stated that the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) is the military of the people, by the people, for the people. It is placed under the absolute and direct leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam in all aspects and performs the functions of combat, work and production. He said that VPA troops are always absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the people and actively participate in building the great national unity bloc and strengthening solidarity with the people. In any situation, troops always stand side by side with the Party committees and local authorities to effectively handle situations to protect the local people’s peaceful life and happiness.

General Giang asked local leaders and authorities to continue bring into play the good traditions and obtained achievements, effectively implement the Party's resolutions, pay more attention to communes in remote and difficult areas to create momentum for socio-economic development and narrow the income gap between regions and localities, encourage locals to strengthen the great national unity, and fulfill the political, economic, cultural and social tasks.
The defense leader strongly believed that the Party committee, government and people of Kon Tum province will continue to stay united and strive to build prosperous and civilized residential areas in the province.
On the occasion, the minister presented 100 houses to disadvantaged families in Kon Tum province. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Ministry of Defense, Military Region 5, Army Corps 3, and Kon Tum province also presented many meaningful gifts to people in Dak Tieng Ko Tu hamlet.

The same day, General Phan Van Giang visited and worked with the Kon Tum provincial Military Command, during which he praised the unit’s accomplishment of military and defense tasks in 2022. Together with fulfilling the enlistment drive, the province’s armed forces well organized defensive area and civil defense exercises and worked with other forces to ensure political security and public order.
