Coast guards save ill fisherman
PANO – The Coast Guard Region 4 Command announced on February 18 that it had sent forces and vehicle to take an ill fisherman ashore for emergency aid.

Earlier on February 17, while performing mission in the waters in the Southwestern region, Coast Guard Ship 4035 of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command received a request for medical assistance from trawler CM 91844 TS, captained by Vo Thanh Tam.
The ill patient was fisherman Vo Thanh Nam, born 1998 in Tan Thuy commune, Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province.
Crew-members of Coast Guard Ship 4035 immediately used canoe to approach trawler CM 91844 TS to provide health examination for the fisherman. Noticing that the injury was serious, and the wind was strong, the team provided first aid for the patient and then reported the situation to the Headquarters of the Regional Coast Guard Command.
Upon receiving the news, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command quickly dispatched Ship CSB 2002 to approach fishing boat CM 91844 TS to continue providing first aid for him and take him to Tho Chu Island for treatment.
At 22:00 on the same day, CSB 2002 safely docked at Tho Chu port.
