Coast guards bring spring atmosphere to islanders
PANO – On January 10, Flotilla 11 of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command and other organizations held a gratitude program in Bach Long Vy island district, Hai Phong city on the occasion of the coming lunar New Year (Tet) 2024.
The program included various meaningful activities, such as Chung cake making competition, zero-VND stall for needy residents, presenting gifts to impoverished students, and disseminating laws and granting national flags to fishermen.

Senior Colonel Tran Van Nam, Political Commissar of the flotilla, underlined that this was an annual program held by the unit in order to bring a cozy Tet to local islanders, promote relations between local people and coast guards, raise residents’ awareness of the Party’s guidelines and State’s laws, and encourage them to stand side by side with coast guards to protect the national sovereignty over sea and islands.

On this occasion, the flotilla offered flowers and incense to martyrs at the Bach Long Vy island martyrs’ monument and visited and extended Tet greetings to local authorities and units on the island.
