Offering scholarships to needy students

The contest aimed to raise students’ awareness of national sea and islands, United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) 1982, Vietnam Law of the Sea; Vietnam Coast Guard Law. This was a practical activity, aiming at educating traditions, history and culture of Tien Giang province in general, and Tan Phu district in particular, thereby promoting patriotism among troops as well as the ties between the coast guard troops and local people.

Handing over national flags to the fishermen

During the event, the organizing board presented 120 scholarships, 20 bicycles, 2,000 national flags, and 20 bags of medicines to the fishermen.

On the same day, in Go Cong Dong district, a similar program was held. During the event, the organizing board disseminated information about the importance of national sea and islands in the cause of national construction and protection, the Party’s guidelines in addressing issues at sea, and prevention of IUU fishing.

Presenting gifts to needy people

In Go Cong Dong district, the delegation visited and presented 300 gifts, worth VND 1 million each, to policy households and needy fishermen; and handed over 2,000 national flags and 10 bags of medicines to the fishermen.

This was the fourth time the program was held in Tien Giang province.
