It aims to raise public awareness of patriotism, love for national sea and islands, and fishermen’s law observance while fishing at sea, as well as their responsibility in protecting national sea and islands, among others.

In each locality, the organizers will present gifts, worth VND 4 million each, to 200 fishermen, including one battery, an LED light, a lifebuoy, one first aid bag, and a handbook “Things to know about fishing.” In addition, the program will also hand over scholarships, bicycles, and books to needy students. According to Mr. Nguyen Thai Binh, Vice Editor-in-Chief of the Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper, Head of the program’s Organizing Board, the whole society needs to join hands to help each fisherman understand law and go fishing at sea peacefully and legally. The program not only presents thousands of gifts and scholarships, but also honor and multiply outstanding models.

Talking about the meaning of the program, Mrs. Tran Kim Yen, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee’s chapter in Ho Chi Minh City, held that the program will contribute to disseminating and educating fishermen about patriotism and love for sea and islands, while encouraging them to fish at sea, contributing to protecting national sovereignty over sea and islands.

During the event, the organizing board offered scholarships to 10 students who are children of needy fishermen, while three first gifts of the program were also presented to local fishermen.
