Vice Chairman of the National Assembly (N.A.) Tran Quang Phuong led a delegation to visit war veterans and fallen soldiers’ relatives in Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province; and offered incense to pay tribute to war martyrs at Tra Linh War Cemetery in the district.

On the occasion, the N.A. Vice Chairman inquired after the national contributors and martyrs’ relatives. He expressed his sincere gratitude to the policy households and national contributors for their contribution to the cause of national liberation and defense. The delegation also presented 30 gifts to policy beneficiaries in the two districts of Nguyen Binh and Trung Khanh, Cao Bang province.

* The same day, Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh visited and presented gifts to former defense leaders Lieutenant Generals Tran Hanh and Phan Thu.

Gen. Vinh took the occasion to send greetings to the former defense leaders, hoping that they would further make contribution to the revolutionary cause of the Party, State and the cause of military building.

He expressed his hope that their relatives also continue to develop noble traditions and overcome difficulties, thereby contributing to local socio-economic development and setting a good example for the youths.

On behalf of the Defense Ministry, Gen. Vinh presented gifts of the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense to the two lieutenant generals.

* On July 24, a delegation of the Ministry of National Defense, led by its Deputy Minister Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, offered incense at Po Hen Historical Relic site and a war cemetery in Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province.

On the occasion, Gen. Chien and the delegation handed over two gratitude houses, worth VND 80 million each, and 100 gifts, worth VND 2.5 million each, to the policy households, war veterans, national contributors, and needy students in border communes in Quang Ninh province.

On behalf of the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense, Gen. Chien inquired after local war veterans and national contributors, encouraging them to uphold revolutionary traditions and strictly follow the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies.

* Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet led a delegation to visit the Thuan Thanh Convalescent Center in Thuan Thanh district, Bac Ninh province.

At the meeting, the GDP leader expressed his deep gratitude for considerable contribution of war veterans and hailed their efforts in overcoming difficulties to stabilize their lives.

* A delegation of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, led by its Deputy Chief Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, inquired after and presented gifts to the Vietnam Association of Agent Orange/dioxin Victims (VAVA).

Addressing the event, Gen. Tan acknowledged the efforts of the association, requesting them to closely work with the Defense Ministry and armed forces at all levels to take care of Agent Orange/dioxin victims.

* A delegation of the Hanoi Capital Command implemented meaningful activities on the occasion of the Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day. Accordingly, the mission offered incense to war martyrs, and presented gifts to policy people in An Thuong commune, Hoai Duc district, Hanoi.

Currently, the commune has 14 heroic Vietnamese mothers in the locality, 207 war martyrs, and 24 war veterans.

On the occasion, the unit offered 20 gifts to the national contributors in the commune.

* The General Department of Logistics sent a delegation to visit, inquire after and present gifts to national contributors at a convalescent center in Thai Binh province.

The delegation wished the war veterans good health, hoping that they would further promote noble virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers while the center’s managing board would take good care of them.

The delegation took the occasion to offer gifts to the war veterans and national contributors and the center.

* The same day, in Phu My town, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Flotilla 129 under the Naval Service provided free health checkups and medicines to local war veterans, policy households and national contributors.

On the occasion, the unit also presented gifts to 200 policy people in the area.

* A similar program was organized by a delegation of the Naval Academy in Khanh Trung commune, Khanh Vinh district, Khanh Hoa province.

Accordingly, local residents were given free health checkups and medicines, while policy households received 15 gifts.

In addition, the unit’s youths also joined summer voluntary activities such as harvesting rice and cleaning up roads, among others.

* The Lung Cu Border Post, in coordination with the Ma Le commune People’s Committee, Dong Van district, Ha Giang province, took care of war veterans and martyrs’ relatives in the area.

The border unit also hoped that the policy households would continue to follow the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies, contributing to building the firm border areas.
