On July 22, Ho Chi Minh City chapter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held a meeting to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day (July 27) in the presence of Politburo member and Party Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Nguyen Van Nen.
At the meeting, the city presented 81 gifts to local wounded soldiers and policy beneficiaries.
Addressing the event, Mr. Nen expressed token of gratitude to heroic fallen and wounded soldiers and policy beneficiary families for their sacrifices and great contribution to the national salvation and fatherland building and protection cause.
* The same day, in Ha Tinh province, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan offered incense and flowers at General Secretary Tran Phu Relic, General Secretary Ha Huy Tap Relic, Temple dedicated to General Secretary Le Duan, and Memorial Site dedicated to great poet Nguyen Du.

On the occasion, the vice president visited and presented gifts to heroic Vietnamese mother Nguyen Thi Chat in Cam Hung commune and wounded soldier Nguyen Van Nhuong in Cam My commune, Cam Xuyen district. She also gave gifts to the province’s 50 heroic Vietnamese mothers, and 200 poor students with good study outcomes.
In the evening, Vice President Xuan attended an art program hosted by Nhan Dan Newspaper and Ha Tinh province at Dong Loc Junction Memorial Site in Can Loc district.
* In the afternoon of July 21, a mission from the Vietnam Coast Guard Command, led by its commander Major General Le Quang Dao offered incense and flowers at the War Cemetery of Gia Vien district, Ninh Binh province and the temple dedicated to fallen troops of Gia Phong commune, Gia Vien district. The delegation also visited and presented gifts to the family of martyr Tran Hoang Trung, a crew-member of Ship CSB 3003 under the Coast Guard Region 1 Command in Me townlet, Gia Vien district.

* Apart from laying wreath at the Traditional Stele of Military Region 7’s Armed Forces in Binh Hoa Nam commune, Duc Hue district, Long An province, the delegation of the Military Region 7 Command inquired after and gave presents to four heroic Vietnamese mothers in the district.
* On July 22, the Logistics Department of Military Region 4, Dong Bac Corporation, and the Party committee and authorities of Dien Nguyen commune, Dien Chau district, Nghe An province handed over VND 160 million to the families of Dang Thanh Phuong - a 76-year-old victim of Agent Orange/Dioxin and Vo Duc Ton - son of a wounded soldier whose wife is regularly ill in Tan Ninh village to help them build gratitude houses.

* Also on July 22, the people’s committees of Phong Dien district, Can Tho city and Chau Thanh A district of Hau Giang province held a meeting at Ong Hao Victory Relic in Phong Dien district, during which 600 gifts and 52 great unity houses were presented to local people.
* The same day, Le Huu Trac National Burn Hospital under the Military Medical University provided free health check-ups and medicines to 250 policy beneficiaries and national contributors and presented gifts to 20 typical policy beneficiaries and national contributors as well as granted 5 scholarships to poor students rising in life in Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province. The hospital also handed over a great unity house to the family of La Van Long in Dong Quoc village, Yen Trach commune, which was constructed at the cost of over VND 350 million, including VND 100 million from the hospital.

Similarly, Military Hospital 87 under the General Department of Logistics offered free health check-ups, medicines, and health consulting to more than 350 people in Ba Cum Nam commune, Khanh Son district, Khanh Hoa province and presented medical equipment to the communal health station.
* On July 21, Defense-Economic Unit 379 under Military Region 2 handed over a gratitude house to its staff, non-commissioned Senior Captain Nguyen Van Dai in Noong Bua ward, Dien Bien Phu city, Dien Bien district.
Meanwhile, on July 22, Division 363 under the Air Defense - Air Force Service and local authorities inaugurated and presented a gratitude house to the family of sick soldier Nguyen Van An in Tien Dong commune, Tu Ky district, Hai Duong province.
A gratitude house was also handed over to the family of Nguyen Thi Kim Lan, mother of martyr Tran Thanh Hung who sacrificed his life while carrying out international duty in Cambodia. The house was built with VND 80 million financial support from the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army.
