Workers’ month and action month on occupational safety and hygiene kicked off

The event aimed to raise employees’ awareness of and responsibility for observing legal regulations on occupational safety and hygiene; promote occupational safety culture and measures to prevent labor accidents, occupational diseases, fires and explosions in the workplace, thereby protecting safety of employees in military agencies, units and enterprises.

Speaking at the event, Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Huy Vinh praised outstanding collectives and individuals in the whole military for their achievements in occupational safety and hygiene, worker movement, and trade union work in 2023, requiring the party committees and chains-of-command of the agencies and units to effectively implement directives, circulars and instructions of the Government and the Ministry of National Defense on occupational safety and hygiene in the military and raise awareness and responsibility of leaders, commanders at all levels and mass organizations of the work.

The agencies and units should maintain activities of the Steering Committee for occupational safety and hygiene and occupational disease prevention and control at all levels, enhance investment in technology, improve working conditions, research different types of personal protective equipment and vehicles suitable for each job, and give special priority to units whose works are hard, hazardous, and at high risk of safety incidents.
