The ceremony witnessed the attendance of Politburo members, Minister of National Defense General Phan Van Giang and permanent member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Vo Van Thuong, among others.
At the ceremony, Deputy Director of the General Department of Political Affairs Lt. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet spoke highly of the initiative of the People’s Army Newspaper in organizing the writing contest in response to Resolution No.35-NQ/TW of the Politburo issued on October 22, 2018 on “Increasing the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and the fighting against wrongful viewpoints of hostile forces in the new situation.”
The contest attracted the participation of 30 press agencies across the country with more than 500 entries, of which 425 were eligible for awards.
The organizers selected the best works to present one first, five second, seven third, and fifteen consolation prizes.
On behalf of the Party and defense ministry’s leadership, Mr. Vo Van Thuong and General Phan Van Giang handed over certificates and cups to Assoc. Prof. Tran Dinh Huynh, the first prize winner, and other authors with second prizes of the writing contest.
Mr. Tran Dinh Huynh, an expert in researching about the Party’s building, was the former director of the Institute of Party Building under the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.

At the ceremony, Editor-in-Chief of the People’s Army Newspaper Maj. Gen. Doan Xuan Bo, who is also head of the organizing panel of the writing contest, launched the second edition of the contest in 2022-2023. He hoped that the next contest will create a prestigious and responsible forum of journalism, science, and politics for participants.
