Presenting gifts to new enlistees in Nghe An province

Bac Giang province is one of the localities affected the most by COVID-19, but at the moment, the locality has completed 105 percent of its set target for recruitment. The quality of new enlistees in terms of health, knowledge, and political stance, is also higher than that in the same period last year. Among the enlistees, 600 have voluntarily signed to join the military.

According to Senior Colonel Le Van Thang, Chief of the Bac Giang provincial Military Command, due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Council of Military Service at all levels had to adjust the timetable for each stage of the enlistment drive.

Meanwhile, Colonel Le Trong Hoa, Deputy Commanding Officer of the Quang Ninh provincial Military Command held that this year, Quang Ninh province was assigned to select new recruits for 11 units. The local Party committees and authorities implemented numerous measures to raise people’s awareness on military service, issued documents to instruct each locality to fulfill their assigned missions.

Localities also injected the second and third shots of COVID-19 vaccine to enlistees 14 days ahead of the handover day and conducted RT-PCR tests for them.

With a forecast of a more complicated situation in the coming days, localities has built appropriate schedule for the handover ceremony of new enlistees.

Notably, the Hanoi Capital Command has built two scenarios on coping with the pandemic in each locality. Particularly, the localities with the one-level and two-level pandemic will implement the shortened handover ceremony of new enlistees within 25 minutes, while the localities with three-level and four-level pandemic will directly hand over recruits to units without any handover ceremonies. In case of the severe situation of the pandemic that the handover can not take place, it will be rescheduled to an appropriate time.

Units of Military Region 4 have mapped out concrete plans to welcome new enlistees and prepare quarantine zones for the ones who infected by COVID-19.

During these days, apart from preparing for the enlistment drive, the localities have launched numerous gratitude activities such as presenting savings books to needy youths, organizing refresher courses on Party knowledge for outstanding youths, and so on.
