At his opening speech, Hero of the People's Armed Forces and VNASMA’s President Lieutenant General Nguyen Duc Soat said that over the past 10 years, the association has gradually expanded its organizational structure and activities. With activeness, pro-activeness, creativeness, and determination to overcome difficulties, the association has conducted 35 major activities to provide livelihood support for over 6,000 people across 28 key provinces and cities. Activities include building gratitude houses; providing business capital, production tools, livestock; repairing houses; presenting prosthetics, wheelchairs, rehabilitation equipment. They have also given cash and gifts on the occasion of national holidays; provided free health check-ups, medicines, and financial support for nearly 3,000 victims of landmines, policy beneficiaries, AO/dioxin victims, and the impoverished.

In addition, the association has actively supported the “paving the way to school for children" program, which was launched by the border guard force to support students in border areas; presented computers, books and notebooks, school supplies, and educational comics about landmine safety for students. Thanks to that the awareness of millions of people of landmines has been enhanced. It has actively inquired after and supported landmine victims and their families.

Over the past decade, the association has actively researched, conducted surveys, and collected data on landmine victims nationwide; proposed measures to effectively implement the National Mine Action Program to address post-war unexploded ordnance.

With its outstanding achievements over the past decade, the association has been honored with Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, the Minister of National Defense, and the Minister of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs.

Regarding future missions, the association plans to further strengthen its organizational structure from central to local levels, expanding branches in key and border areas. It will also enhance dissemination to raise public awareness of landmines and mobilize domestic and international resources to support victims.
