Vietnamese military rescuers support Turkish people affected by earthquake
PANO - The search and rescue (SAR) mission of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) on February 21 (local time) handed over necessities to several local families at Hatay Stadium in Antakya, the capital of Hatay province, Turkey.
The gifts included field tents, folding beds, sleeping bags, blankets, boots, shoes, fresh water, dry rations, and others.
Receivers were 25 families affected by the recent earthquake in early February. They were safely evacuated to a disaster relief center in Antakya when the devastating earthquake occurred. However, all valuable property was buried in the debris.
At the handover ceremony, the leader of the Vietnamese military rescue force inquired after and encouraged these families to overcome the consequences of the earthquake.
On behalf of the receivers, Mr. Levent thanked the Vietnamese military mission for the valuable gifts, promising that he will soon deliver the gifts to 25 families.
