PANO - The Vietnam Veterans’ Association successfully held the 5th Patriotic Emulation Congress, which concluded on December 3rd after more than one day working.
Lieutenant General Phung Khac Dang, vice president of the Vietnam Veterans’ Association, confirmed that the emulation movement of the association has moved in the right direction, clearly attracting the active participation of its members, providing more useful experience and lessons for the movement in the time to come.

Launching the movement period 2015-2020, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans’ Association, emphasized the direction, the set goals, and the mobilization of veterans to promote the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the building and protection of the Party, State, political system, national great unity, and people.
The general also stressed that the association needs to mobilize resources, promoting self-reliance and self-resilience in sustainable economic development and poverty reduction while putting more focus on the education of tradition for younger generations, successfully completing all tasks assigned by the Party, State and people.
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans’ Association awarded certificates of merit to 21 provincial and municipal associations, 68 groups and 84 individuals, presenting flags to 17 provincial associations and one central association agency for their outstanding achievements in the movement over the past five years.
