Vietnam, Russia boost bilateral ties
PANO - A meeting to establish the Russia-Vietnam Friendship Association under the Air Defense - Air Force Service took place on May 23 in Hanoi.
Present at the meeting were Senior Lieutenant General Vo Van Tuan, former Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association (VRFA) Trinh Quoc Khanh, along with nearly 200 veterans of the Air Defense - Air Force Service who had studied in the Soviet Union or used to work with Soviet military advisers in Vietnam.
The participants voted to elect members of the Executive Committee of the association for the 2019-2024 term.
Besides, the participants also agreed to mobilize its members to actively participate in maintaining and promoting relations with Vietnam Soviet veterans’ organizations, the Air Force Officer Training Schools in Russia, and the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Russia.
These activities aim to realize programs of the association, and promote cooperation, relations and the partnership between the two countries and two peoples.
