At the conference, delegates clarified advantages and outstanding results, and pointed out shortcomings, limitations, causes, and lessons in leading, directing, grasping, carrying out the resolution. They also reached agreement on the orientations, goals and solutions to build a coast guard force to meet the assigned requirements and duties in the coming time.
In particular, over the past years, the Vietnam Coast Guard Command’s Party Committee has embraced and directed the implementation of the resolution’s contents, goals, missions, and solutions in close line with the reality and the force’s functions and assigned tasks.
Focused contents included Party building and protection, law-governed socialist state building, combination of defense and security consolidation and economic development, building of all people’s defense disposition coupled with people’s security posture, military building, and international integration and defense diplomacy, among others.
In addition, the party committees, leaders and chains-of-command at all levels of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command’s affiliates have well concentrated their leadership and direction on the training and combat readiness work according to the guideline “basic, practical, firm,” the mastery of new materiel, and effective, creative and innovative implementation of mass mobilization, law dissemination work.
Under their leadership, the development of situations has been closely watched, contributing to ensuring sovereignty security, order and safety at sea. Moreover, the assurance of logistic and technical services for missions and defense diplomacy activities have been implemented comprehensively. Notably, troops have been well aware of the position, significance, and importance of the resolution towards the Fatherland construction and protection cause, strictly observed guidelines and policies on settlement of situations at sea, and enforced the State law and related international treaties. They have also improved the efficiency of State management in protecting national sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction at sea.
Addressing the event, Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh urged the Vietnam Coast Guard Command to continue embracing and strictly implementing instructions and orders on defense and military duties.
The command was asked to focus on building a politically-, ideologically-, morally-, and organizationally-strong party organization, and a contingent of capable cadres to meet task requirements and combat signs of “self-transformation,” and “self-evolution” in a timely and effective manner.

Together with building a standardized, elite and modern force, the command should improve combat readiness quality and team with other major forces to safeguard the air, waters, and islands of the nation, follow closely the developments of situations at sea and stationed areas to give timely recommendations to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense for handling.
On the occasion, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command awarded 10 groups and 11 individuals with outstanding achievements in the resolution implementation.
