Applauding the remarkable achievements gained by the above units, Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai required them to uphold the glorious traditions of the Vietnam People’s Army in the time to come, contributing to building comprehensively strong units.

In particular, the units should focus on force regularity building, discipline observance, and close coordination with local authorities, relevant organizations, and local people to thoroughly grasp the situation and give recommendations to higher levels, so as to deal with arising issues at sea in an effective and timely manner.

Meanwhile, the units should raise the quality of mass mobilization work and promote law dissemination and education, especially on IUU fishing prevention regulations and the removal of European Commission (E.C.)’s “yellow card” on Vietnamese seafood.

These missions will contribute to building a firm people's heart disposition on islands, safeguarding national sovereignty, and maintaining security, order, and safety over the Southwestern waters and islands of the country.

On the occasion, the delegation offered incense and flowers at the temple dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh, people killed by the Pol Pot genocidal regime, and previous generations who had sacrificed their lives to protect national sovereignty over sea and islands.
