Major General Ngo Van Bich, Chief of the Mass Mobilization Department under the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, affirmed that since the launch of the movement, relevant army units have made recommendations to their leaders to raise, manage and effectively spend funds donated by troops.
They also raised their soldiers’ awareness of the movement.
Up to now, the army has assisted nearly 150,000 families to improve their living standards, repaired 97,000 downgraded houses, built 15,000 new gratitude houses, contributed thousands of working days to construct roads and public facilities, rolled out welfare activities to policy beneficiaries, and donated more than VND 54 billion to the “For the poor” Fund.
Notably, while responding to the movement, many army units announced effective and creative methods in order to support the poor residents, becoming a mainstay of localities where they are stationed and beautifying the virtue of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in the current context.
