Trainees are introduced to weapons and equipment at the Center for CBRNE incident response in the Central region (Chemical Corps).

The course was co-organized by the standing office of the national coordinating agency for prevention and control of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) proliferation (also called Standing Office 81) and the Export and Related Border Security Program of the U.S. Department of State, via both online and offline formats.

Joining the course, experts updated participants with information related to chemical, biological, radioactive, nuclear and explosive weapons, measures to detect materials and equipment related to CBRNE weapons, methods of preventing the production, sale, and distribution of materials and equipment regarding CBRNE weapons, as well as regulations on chemical management, radiation and nuclear safety, and WMD proliferation prevention in Vietnam.

Troops of the center conduct a response drill on WMD proliferation.

The training course gave troops a better understanding of the Government’s Decree 81/2019 on the prevention and control of WMD proliferation, contributing to promoting the implementation of U.N. Security Council’s resolutions and international treaties on WMD proliferation prevention and control in Vietnam.

As an adviser for the national coordinating agency for prevention and control of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) proliferation, Standing Office 81 has further enhanced organizing activities to raise the capability of ministries, departments and localities’ coordinating units in WMD proliferation prevention and control.
