PANO – General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Minister of National Defence, on December 11th chaired a conference to review the implementation of staff work this year.
At the conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, delivered a report on the implementation of staff work in 2015. Accordingly, the General Staff instructed its units to strictly maintain combat readiness, deal with situations in a timely manner, and fulfill all assigned tasks on time. It actively submitted recommendations to the Central Military Commission, National Defence Ministry, the Party, and State on strategic solutions to raise combat readiness of the armed forces, build the whole people’s defence, defend territorial integrity, and firmly maintain political stability, making contributions to peace and stability in the region and in the world.

On behalf of the Central Military Commission and National Defence Ministry, General Do Ba Ty praised the achievements recorded by staff units in 2015 and asked them to thoroughly grasp and effectively carry out missions in 2016.
The Chief of the General Staff stressed that in the coming time, staff units should keep track of the situation to give timely advice to the Party and State on military and defence missions, strictly maintain combat readiness, and be ready to carry out assigned missions. They were also asked to carry out enlistment drives in accordance with the amended Law on Military Service, take part in the ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet, and develop suitable training programs.
The same day, the National Defence Ministry reviewed logistics work. Accordingly, in 2015, logistics units achieved remarkable achievements in carrying out assigned missions and emulation movements.
In the time to come, the logistics service will thoroughly grasp and effectively carry out resolutions on logistics work.
