Navy delegation wraps up trip to Truong Sa, DK1 platform
A working delegation from the Vietnam People’s Navy completed a meaningful visit to the Truong Sa (Spratly) and the DK1 platform from April 19-25, during which they engaged with military personnel and residents ahead of the 50th anniversary of the Truong Sa's liberation (April 29).
The delegation distributed gifts worth nearly VNA 5.2 billion (208,000 USD) to soldiers and civilians. A key moment was the flag-raising ceremony on Spratly Island, followed by solemn incense offerings at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial and the Monument to Fallen Heroes in Truong Sa town.

Standing Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen directed health departments and hospitals nationwide to offer free medical treatment to 16 patients who are relatives of soldiers stationed on the islands, rigs, and aboard ship 561 visited by the delegation.
The trip featured vibrant activities, including performances celebrating Vietnam’s sea, islands, homeland, and soldiers. Art and chess competitions, along with initiatives to raise awareness of the country's sea and islands, and the heroic Vietnam People’s Navy, were held. A writing contest also captured participants’ reflections on Truong Sa.
Looking forward, the Vietnam People’s Navy plans to organize 27 trips to Truong Sa this year.
