Despite persistent drizzle in March, the recruits have been training with high enthusiasm, showing full determination in their exercises. Most of them now show their calmness and confidence in movements.

Private Nguyen Manh Dung, a soldier of Squad 5, Platoon 2, Company 1, New Soldier Training Battalion, comes from Hong Hai ward, Ha Long city. Before joining the military, he had graduated from the Electric Power University with a major in electrical and civil engineering. Reflecting on his training, Dung said the exercises weren’t too difficult, but the precision required made them challenging. On the first days in training, Dung and his comrades at times felt discouraged. However, with the support, guidance, and care from officers at all levels, Dung found himself settling in, focusing on his tasks and quickly adapting to the military training. The young soldier boldly shared, “I have clearly had my determination. I will strive to train well and aim for high results in all the contents and tasks during this three-month training program.”

Private Dang Tien Dai from Squad 4, Platoon 7, Company 3, is a youth from Quang Ha townlet, Hai Ha district, Quang Ninh province. He recalled that at first, he and other recruits found it difficult to train with the AK rifle, but through persistent practice and guidance from the instructors, their skills have greatly improved. “Now, we’re all confident when performing exercises,” said Dai.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Dinh Cuong, Political Commissar of Regiment 244, to ensure that the soldiers remain focused on their training, the unit has paid attention to political and ideological education. The regiment has applied various creative methods, such as the “Comradeship Sharing” program and the regular “three-person group activities.” In March, the unit will hold various activities, including a youth forum titled “Honor and Responsibility of a Soldier in the Vietnam People's Army,” sports events, and physical training challenges, for them. These activities will help foster teamwork and enhance their awareness and responsibility.
