On behalf of the Party and State leaders, PM Chinh applauded the regiment’s troops for bringing into play the glorious tradition of Division 371 - the first combat air force division of the Vietnam People’s Army, excellently fulfilling all assignments, and well performing the duties of combat, work and production, beautifying the images of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.

The government leader recalled glorious feats-of-arms at sea and on rivers of our troops in the past and the responsibility of the air force on the air front. He asked the regiment’s troops to continue promoting their glorious traditions, spirit of self-reliance, and achieving all assigned duties, as well as building an elite, strong, compact force.
PM Chinh also requested the regiment to keep building a strong and healthy Party committee, raising leadership capability and combat strength of the Party committee and its members, exercising prevention against corruption, negativeness, realizing higher levels’ resolutions on enhancing the study and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and style.
Noting that the world’s situation is changing rapidly and unprecedentedly, PM Chinh stressed that the mission of managing and safeguarding national airspace assigned to the air force becomes difficult and complicated, posing higher requirements. Therefore, troops of Air Force Regiment 921 in particular and of the Air Defense – Air Force Service in general must always bear in mind Uncle Ho’s teachings, heighten vigilance, become dynamic, creative, stay combat readiness, develop solutions to air combat situations in a timely and accurate manner.
Other missions that the regiment should do, according to the government leader’s request, are to continue to embrace and carry out higher levels’ resolutions and directives on the Fatherland Protection Strategy in the new situation; to build an exemplary and typical regiment with high combat strength and synergy quality; and to improve training and combat readiness quality and mastery of modern materiel.

PM Chinh urged the regiment to keep good solidarity relations with local people, build a politically-safe stationed area, and improve troops’ material and spiritual life.
He believed that with its glorious and heroic tradition, the regiment in particular and the Air Defense - Air Force Service in general will surmount all challenges, gain more achievements, contributing to fulfilling the mission of Fatherland construction and defense.
Earlier, PM Pham Minh Chinh inspected Yen Bai military airbase where Air Force Regiment 921 is stationed, manages and operates.
Regarding the province’s proposal of building the airbase into a dual-use one, PM Chinh asked the province to team with the Ministries of Transport, National Defense and other related ministries, departments to study and evaluate the impacts and effectiveness of a dual-use airbase, including the expansion of traffic routes, urban development, and plans in case of war.
The government leader said that in the short term, the airbase manager should continue investing in, defending, and operating the airbase in a safe and effective manner.
