In his remarks, Deputy Director of the General Department of Political Affairs Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau briefed delegates on the results of the dissemination coordination in military and defense tasks in 2023 and the first six months of 2024.

In detail, with the due attention of the CMC and MND and the collaboration and support of central departments, ministries and sectors, particularly the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, as well as central and local press agencies, the press work in the military recorded significant outcomes. The work of the press agencies has made important contribution to popularizing the Party and State’s guidelines and policies on military and defense affairs and Party building in the new situation; well implement the function of providing information and orienting public opinion; raise awareness and responsibility, and enhance solidarity of the whole Party, people and military; gather support from the international friends and community in the building of the whole-people defense posture; and enhance the prestige of the country and the Vietnam People’s Army.

The central and local and military press focused on disseminating information related to the result of building an elite, compact, strong military; the result of implementing the resolutions of the 13th National Party Congress after half a term; the 10-year implementation of the resolution of the eighth session of the 11th Party Central Committee on Fatherland protection strategy in the new situation”; combat readiness and mass mobilization work; military recruitment, training, defense competitions, and exercises; and activities in celebration of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.

Many press agencies attached importance to making a series of articles; organizing dissemination programs, and building up concrete dissemination plans to celebrate the 80th foundation anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA). The articles featured the good nature and qualities of the VPA, spreading the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.

Together with the national press, the military press has obtained a number of significant outcomes. The military press strictly observed the State’s law, well performed the function of providing information and orientating public opinion, as well as promoted the pioneering role in disseminating information about protecting the Party’s ideological foundation.

Representatives of press agencies expressed their gratitude towards the CMC and MND for directing its military units to create favorable conditions for them to provide timely and accurate information to help improve the quality of news programs on military and defense tasks. They expressed their desire for the military and press agencies to collaborate more effectively in the future to provide adequate information on military and defense tasks, contributing to orientating public opinions and fighting against wrongful viewpoints of hostile forces.

For his part, General Phan Van Giang expressed his appreciation and thanks to central agencies as well as central and local press agencies for accompanying the military's activities and effectively reflecting the results of performing military-defense and defense external affairs tasks, as well as the building of the whole-people defense posture and military in the new situation.

The defense minister hoped that the press agencies would continue to closely collaborate with the MND in the future.
