PAN presents gifts to former artillery servicewomen
PANO – The People’s Army Newspaper (PAN) handed over gifts to members of Ngu Thuy female Artillery Company in Ngu Thuy Trung commune, Le Thuy district, Quang Binh province, on December 23.
The company was established on November 20, 1967 during the national resistance war against American invaders. The company included four artillery batteries and one anti-aircraft platoon. After its valuable service to the people and the nation, the unit was dissolved in 1977.

For ten years of valiant operation, the company’s soldiers participated in hundreds of battles, particularly on the occasion when they fired eight enemy ships. For their heroic efforts, they received a letter of congratulation from President Ho Chi Minh and other noble orders from the Party and State, all listing their achievements.
In 1970, the company was honored with the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces.”
Recently, a battlefield of the company in the commune was recognized as the national historical relic by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the company’s founding year, 73rd founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) and the 28th Whole People's Defense Festive Day, a delegation of the newspaper, led by its former Editor-in-Chief, Major General Phan Khac Hai, inquired after and presented gifts to the company’s members.
He also wished them good health and continued success in contributing to the building of their hometown.
