Accordingly, Major General Duong Duc Thien handed over the mission of the Chief of the Department of Military Security Protection to Senior Colonel Bui Trong Vinh. The appointment decision for Senior Colonel Vinh was signed on October 26.

Previously, on October 10, the Ministry of National Defense issued a decision to appoint Major General Duong Duc Thien as the Political Commissar of the Military Academy of Logistics.

Speaking at the event, General Cuong congratulated Major General Thien for completing his assigned tasks over the past time. He stressed that during General Thien’s term of office, the Department of Military Security Protection provided timely advice for higher levels on safeguarding the military security, especially the internal political stability, contributing to defeating plots and schemes of hostile forces, firmly protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the military, and upholding the combined strength of the whole military.

The defense leader asked Senior Colonel Vinh to promote responsibilities and quickly undertake his new mission to direct the security protection in the whole military.

* The same day, the Staff of the Vietnam Border Guard Command held a similar event to announce its new chief under the chair of Commander of the Vietnam Border Guard Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai.

Accordingly, Prime Minister appointed Second-in-Command Officer of the Vietnam Border Guard Major General Hoang Huu Chien as the Chief of Staff of the Vietnam Border Guard, replacing Major General Le Quang Dao, who has been appointed as Commanding General of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command.

Speaking at the event, Major General Chien affirmed that he will continue promoting the heroic traditions of the Staff of the Vietnam Border Guard Command and its achievements over the past time. He hoped that the Staff of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command will continue to collaborate with the Staff of the Vietnam Border Guard Command in managing and protecting the national sovereignty over seas and islands.

Meanwhile, General Thai expressed his hope that General Chien will promote his capabilities on his new post, contributing to directing the Staff of the Vietnam Border Guard Command to fulfill all assigned missions.
