New COVID-19 treatment hospital unveiled in HCM City
PANO – The Military Institute of Traditional Medicine held a ceremony on February 14 to unveil a new hospital for treatment of COVID patients with mild and moderate symptoms at its sub-institute in Ho Chi Minh City.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Vo Minh Luong, leaders of Military Region 7 and the Military Institute of Traditional Medicine, among others. According to the decision of the defense minister, the sub-institute of the Military Institute of Traditional Medicine has temporarily been converted into a COVID-19 treatment hospital.
During three weeks of implementation, the hospital has completed its preparation. It has 300 beds and 50 doctors and medical workers. Now the hospital is ready to receive and give treatment to patients.
Addressing the ceremony, General Luong spoke highly of the efforts of the institute’s personnel over the past time, and at the same time required them to heighten responsibilities and promote solidarity to overcome all hardships, contributing to fulfilling all missions assigned by the Party, State, military and people.

He noted that the hospital should collaborate well with relevant forces in the locality to receive and treat COVID-19 patients while ensuring safety for its personnel.
The deputy defense minister asked the hospital’s doctors and medical workers to follow regulations of COVID-19 treatment when taking care of the patients. He urged the hospital to coordinate with other units, especially Military Hospital 175 and the city’s Department of Health, to receive their assistance in terms of expertise and medical equipment while ensuring good conditions for its doctors and medical workers.
