Navy receives two more home-constructed missile ships
PANO - The Ba Son Shipyard under the General Department of Defense Industry handed over two missile ships, designated M5 and M6, to the Vietnam People’s Navy, in Dong Nai province on October 9.
At the flag-raising ceremony
Rear Admiral Hoang Hong Ha, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam People’s Navy and representatives from relevant military agencies and the province were present at the event.
The pair of ships, numbered 382 and 383, are equipped with advanced weapons and state-of-the-art functions and commissioned to Brigade 167 of Naval Region 2. Once operational, they will contribute to improving combat strength of the brigade and the region as well.
After the handover, the Navy held a flag-raising ceremony for the two missile ships.
This is the third patch of a series of six such missile warships designed on the basis of Molniya version in accordance with the agreement on technology transfer signed by Vietnam and Russia in 2009.
