PANO - A delegation of Naval Region 3 Command, led by its Political Commissar, naval Captain Mai Trong Dinh, paid a working visit and offered Lunar New Year (Tet) gifts to troops and people in Con Co island district from January 27th to 29th. Reporters of 16 Central and local press agencies joined the delegation.

Visiting Con Co Island, the delegation was briefed upon the task performance in 2015 of the island district. Accordingly, the island's troops and people have successfully fulfilled their missions over the past year, contributing to maintaining political security and social order in the locality. Meanwhile, the local authorities have also succeeded in boosting local socio-economic development and improving the islanders' lives.
Addressing the working session, Dinh praised the island's authorities and people for their efforts in fulfilling the 2015 missions over the past year. He also urged the local authorities and units to further grasp their assigned missions, maintain vigilance and combat readiness and prepare well for the upcoming Tet holiday.

On this occasion, the officer extended the best wishes to local troops and people and presented Tet gifts to the armed forces stationed in the island district.
Earlier, the delegation had offered incense and paid tribute to fallen soldiers at the Martyr Memorial on Con Co Island and visited troops of Radar Station 540 under Regiment 351.
