MR 5 conducts two-side, one-level exercise
PANO - On November 9, in Da Nang, the Military Region 5 (MR 5) Command launched a two-side, one-level exercise involving communication, cryptographic, electronic warfare, and information technology units to enhance defensive and offensive operations within the region’s defensive combat strategy.
Major General Le Ngoc Hai, Second-in-Command and Chief-of-Staff of Military Region 5, led the exercise.

Under the theme of "Coordination of communication and cryptography forces in defensive operations; collaboration of electronic warfare and information technology forces to support small-scale offensive operations," the exercise consisted of three phases: shifting combat readiness posture, preparing for combat, and conducting combat operations.

In his opening remarks, Major General Le Ngoc Hai urged the organizing committee and all participating forces to thoroughly understand higher-level instructions and the exercise’s plans, ensuring strict, realistic, and safe execution. After the exercise, participating units will review it to identify limitations and map out measures for improvement of training and combat readiness.

This exercise was designed to improve coordination among commanding officers and units in communication, cryptography, electronic warfare, and information technology within defensive and small-scale offensive operations. It also serves to assess the effectiveness of equipment, organization, and technical capabilities, while updating methods of tactical electronic warfare and cyber warfare to meet the missions’ requirements in the current context.
