MR 5 conducts command and staff exercise
PANO - On May 3, the Military Region 5 (MR 5) Command launched a command and staff exercise with map and field components for its troops under the chair of Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy-Defense Minister.
The event also saw the attendance of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Phuong Nam, Deputy-Chief of the General Staff and Lieutenant General Do Can, Deputy-Director of the General Department of Politics.

As planned, the three-stage exercise was conducted in close line with MR 5’s tasks and reality in its stationed area so as to promote the combined strength and collaboration among participating forces. In addition, it was held in order to improve commanding and operating capabilities for leaders of local military commands and authorities, contributing to maintaining political stability and social order in the military region.
So far, experience and lessons learnt from the exercise are of great help for relevant forces to complete their training in a bid to actively deal with any emerging situations in the coming time.
