Present at the meeting were Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, permanent member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Defense Minister and Chief of the General Staff; Deputy Defense Ministers: Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don, Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem; and leaders and commanders of defense agencies and military units under the Ministry of National Defense.
Accordingly, under the leadership of the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense, all agencies and units in the whole military accomplished all military and defense missions in November.
Particularly, military units strictly maintained combat readiness as well as ensured security for the Sixth Session of the 14th National Assembly. They also actively followed situations; embraced and implemented plans, directives and orders related to defense and military in 2019; thoroughly prepared to review the implementation of Resolution No.28 of the Political Bureau on turning provinces and centrally-run cities into firm defensive zones.
In addition, military agencies and units actively organized training programs; conducted live-fire exercises, military intelligence and reconnaissance contests, and a military football tournament as planned; strengthened military-defense missions; promoted military regularity and discipline observance; and improved political and ideological education for troops.
The military schools also held effectively various activities to celebrate the Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20).

Speaking at the meeting, General Lich informed the delegates at the event of the results of the meeting between Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and leaders of the Ministry of National Defense on November 29, and praised achievements recorded by military agencies and units over the past month. Regarding major defense and military missions in November, he asked the chains-of- command of all agencies and units to direct and instruct their subordinates to maintain combat readiness, closely follow situations and be ready to deal with emergency issues.
Military units were requested to well prepare for the conference to review five-year results of the implementation of Resolution No.765 of the Central Military Commission on improving the training quality, and strictly maintain search and rescue missions.
The minister urged agencies and units to organize drills in response to natural disasters, ensure the information system and cyber security, and improve quality of combat readiness.
