Defense Minister attends military handover and enlistment ceremony in Cao Bang
PANO - Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang attended the 2026 military handover and enlistment ceremony held at the Defensive Area Command Region 3-Thong Nhat, Cao Bang province on March 4.

According to Le Hai Hoa, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Cao Bang province and Chairman of the provincial Military Service Council, Cao Bang is a land rich in historical traditions, with many great contributions to the national resistance wars, especially as the birthplace of the Vietnam People’s Army. Over the past years, the province has fulfilled 100% of its military recruitment quota. The proportion of young people voluntarily submitting applications to enlist, along with their educational level and physical fitness, has steadily improved.

Hoang Trung Kien, a citizen of Tan Giang ward, shared that he was proud to wear the military uniform of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and carry out the sacred duty of a citizen. He promised to study and train hard to successfully fulfill all assigned tasks.
At the ceremony, General Phan Van Giang, together with other delegates, presented flowers and encouraged young enlistees before their departure for military service. The general warmly inquired after and advised them to uphold revolutionary traditions of their hometown, strive in study and training, and strictly observe the military’s regulations and discipline.

The military enlistment ceremony is not only an important annual political event, but also a festival for the youth. At the end of the ceremony, vehicles carrying new recruits rolled away amid waves of hands, well-wishes, and the loving trust of their families. On the faces of young soldiers were expressions of determination and excitement as they embarked on a new journey.
