MND reviews barracks building plans of units
PANO - The Ministry of National Defense (MND) held a conference on August 1 to review the master plans for building the barracks of Military Region 7, the National Defense Academy, and the organ of the General Department of Defense Industry under the chair of Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang.
The conference was attended by General Luong Cuong, Director of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister, among others.

At the event, Major General Nguyen Quoc Viet, Chief of the Department of Barracks under the General Department of Logistics, reported on the master plans for building barracks of the three units.

Accordingly, under the direction of the defense leaders, the Department of Barracks has collaborated with the three units and relevant agencies to complete the master plans. The department has also promptly reported the results of the building process to leaders of the MND.
After listening to the report, delegates contributed opinions to the master plans with a focus on shortcomings and solutions, especially about individual areas, elevators, basements, and so on.

Speaking at the conference, General Giang applauded efforts and collaboration of relevant agencies and the three units. He urged them to continue studying and allocating building in an appropriate way and for long-term use. The new functional buildings must be connected to each others while old buildings must be made good use of, he added.

Regarding opinions of delegates, General Giang required functional agencies to closely review the master plans to ensure legal proceedings for the projects while requiring the three units to collaborate well to adjust their plans, and map out solutions to choose the best one for implementation.
