Over the past five years, the signatories worked closely with other functional agencies of the two ministries to give recommendations to higher levels to direct the guarantee of information security and protection of national sovereignty in cyber space. Specifically, the Politburo approved the strategy on Fatherland protection on cyber space; the National Assembly ratified the Law on Cyber Security in 2015, and more.

The two sides also shared information, carried out measures to ensure cyber security, handled incidents and situations related to cyber space, effectively contributing to defending national sovereignty over cyber space and combating hostile forces who use cyber space to sabotage the Party, State and socialism of Vietnam.

In addition, they boosted information dissemination to raise public awareness of cyber security, increased international cooperation, organized more exercises to ensure cyber security during major domestic and international events taking place in Vietnam.

At the event, Defense Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich lauded the two agencies for their effective and close coordination. He urged Command 86 to further team up with the Authority of Information Security and other MIC’s affiliates to improve personnel’s expertise, rehearse scenarios related to cyber security, and develop information security-related technologies, services, and products.

Lich also suggested raising troops’ and people’s awareness of cyber security, actively protecting the Party’s ideological foundation, and combating wrongful viewpoints and distorted information of hostile forces and reactionaries.
