Currently, the whole military has nearly 300 databases that have been built by agencies and units to manage information in all aspects, including 17 databases related to troops’ information management, five databases related to administrative procedures, 28 databases related to information management of weapons and equipment, and 20 databases related to information management of defense land and military terrains. Many of them have contributed to the management work of the MND’s affiliated units.

During the working session, Command 86 and MND’s functional units hailed the building of databases in military units. Besides, Command 86 also pointed out issues related to the quality of the database as well as the management of the database.

Addressing the meeting, General Vinh noted that Command 86 and functional units should boost the management of database and ensure information safety. The use of data must be carried out from the MND to the grassroots level. Meanwhile, agencies and units must map out solutions to ensure information security and safety according to the Government’s Decree No.85/2016/ND-CP issued on July 1, 2016 on the security of information system by classification.

* On the same day, a delegation of the MND, led by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, worked with Military Region 7 (MR7) Command on the construction investment and the implementation of a construction to build the Military Region 7 Command Headquarters.

In the 2021-2025 period, MR7 implemented 129 construction investment projects. So far, it has completed 67 projects. The project to build the Military Region 7 Command Headquarters was started in August 2023, currently reaches 42% scheduled progress. During the implementation of the project, the region strictly follows laws, legal procedures, regulations, as well as all directions of higher levels.

Hailing the region’s achievements over the past time, the deputy defense minister requested MR7 to boost inspection during task implementation so as to ensure safety and quality as regulated.

* At the Corps 15’s Cultural House in Pleiku city, Gia Lai province, on May 20, the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) held a ceremony to kick off the tenth mass art festival for the armed forces, youth and students of Region 2. The event was attended by GDP’s Deputy Chief Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet.

The event sees the participation of 22 mass art troupes from Army Corps 3; Corps 15; Corps 11; Signal Corps; Commando Corps; Division 324 (Military Region 4); Division 2 (Military Region 5); Naval Academy; Air Force Officer Candidate School; Corporation 319; GDP’s organ; Department 11 (General Department II); Border Guard Command of Gia Lai province; Military Commands of the provinces of Hung Yen, Ha Tinh, and Dak Lak; Public Security Unit 3, Public Security Unit 4, Dak Lak provincial Youth Union, Lam Dong provincial Youth Union, Da Lat University, and Dong A University.

The art festival is part of the activities in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the foundation day of the Vietnam People’s Army, the 35th anniversary of the Whole People’s Defense Festive Day. It also contributes to evaluating the implementation of mass arts movements at the grassroots level, while creating conditions for units inside and outside the military to have experience to boost mass cultural and artistic movements.

The festival is scheduled to last until May 26.
