MND checks military-defense task performance at Dong Thap provincial Border Guard Command

An overview of the working session

During the working session, the delegation reviewed the progress of restructuring and reorganizing local military agencies under the two-level administrative model in Dong Thap province. This is a key element contributing to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of local armed forces’ operations.

In his remarks, Lt. Gen. Thai Dai Ngoc commended the significant efforts and sense of responsibility shown by Dong Thap border guards in fulfilling their assigned political tasks, particularly in the context of major administrative changes and growing demands for border management and protection.

The Deputy Chief of the General Staff emphasized that Dong Thap holds a critical strategic position and key border areas within the national defense and public security posture. Therefore, local military and defense activities, especially the role of the border guard force, should be further promoted to help strengthen the province’s defense capabilities in close association with socio-economic development.

The delegation checks the operational document system when the merger and reorganization of the Dong Thap provincial Border Guard Command are being implemented.

He also urged the command to continue closely monitoring the situation and effectively coordinating with Party committees, local authorities at all levels, and relevant functional forces to accomplish assigned missions. At the same time, mass mobilization activities should be carried out effectively to support local socio-economic development and reinforce the people-based defense posture in border areas.
