The event was held under the chair of Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia.
At the event, delegates reviewed that under the leadership of the Central Military Commission, leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff and the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People’s Army, and relevant agencies, relevant units actively overcame hardships to fulfill their missions at the Army Games 2022.

Delegates attending the conference proposed that the Vietnam People’s Army should continue to take part in 10 competition categories and host the “Emergency Area” event of the Army Games 2023. In addition, for the participation of Vietnamese cadets, who are studying in Russia, in the games, the defense ministry’s functional agencies will refer to proposals of the Russian side before proposing to the defense leadership for consideration and decision.
Speaking at the event, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia assigned relevant agencies and units to selecting athletes, establish contingents, launch training courses, and conduct preparations for participating forces in ten events, which are Emergency Area, Tank Biathlon, Confident Reception, Safe Environment, Sniper Frontier, Meridian, Army of Culture, Field Kitchen, Military Medical Relay Race, and Gunsmith Master.
The training course for all Vietnamese teams participating in the Army Games 2023 will begin from March 1, 2023.
The Deputy Chief of the General Staff required all relevant units to closely collaborate to conduct preparation, training and hosting the Emergency Area event with the highest results and absolute safety.
