After Military Region 2’slaunch ceremony at Depot K5 of the Technical Department, more than 300 troops planted over 5,000 acacia auriculiformis trees and 100 fruit trees. This year, the military region targets to plant 132,645 trees of different kinds, take care of and protect 3,700 hectares of forest, and afforest additional 75 hectares.

Meanwhile, troops of Battalion 2 of Signal Brigade 139 of the Signal Corps and its civilian twinned units planted more than 2,000 timber and fruit trees. According to the Corps, its affiliated units have actively responded to the tree-planting movement this year with over 20,000 trees planted.

Following President Ho Chi Minh’s teaching that spring is a perfect time to plant trees, Ninh Binh provincial Border Guard Command launched a similar activity. After the launch, troops planted around 2,000 shade, fruit, and timber trees.

Earlier on February 11, more than 1,000 troops of Division 968 of Military Region 4 joined a tree-planting drive. Over 10,000 trees and ornamentals, worth VND 50 million, were planted in the campus and training ground of the unit. 

All troops of units and agencies of the Bac Giang provincial Military Command actively participated in the tree-planting movement with around 6,000 trees planted. The unit also had a plan to take a good care of the newly-planted ones.
