To ensure the festival a success, before the Lunar New Year Festival, the Party Committee and Chain-of-Command of Military Region 3 instructed its units and agencies to develop their detailed plans and carefully prepare healthy plants for the day. On the launching day, troops in the whole military region planted 100,000 trees of different kinds.
The tree-planting festival is a regular event of the military region’s armed forces aiming to raise troops’ responsibility for environmental protection.
At the Political Officer Training School, cadres and cadets planted more than 4,500 trees in the campus. To ensure the effectiveness of the festival, the school’s leaders had checked trees before planting. They also praised groups and individuals for their fruitful results in the tree-planting festival so as to encourage all cadres and cadets to contribute more to the tree-planting movement.
Meanwhile, various naval units, including Brigade 170, Marines Brigade 147, and Naval Academy targeted to plant tens of thousands of shade, fruit, and timber trees during the year. At its launching ceremony, Factory X28 of the Technical Department of the Navy instructed its officers, troops, and workers to plant trees and to take care of newly-planted trees.
