The events took place in three days, attracting the participation of ships from Brigade 125 under the Naval Region 2 Command.

During the competition, troops competed in command and staff, politics, logistics, and techniques contents. Meanwhile, the festival focused on political, navigation, weapon, electronic equipment, unarmed line-up regulations, and sports activities, among others.

Awarding the outstanding ships

Over the past years, the unit’s Party Committee and chains-of-command have directed troops at all levels to strictly follow directives and instructions of the higher levels on criteria of the competition and festival. Ships at port have mobilized its personnel to maintain and beautify their ships according to the list of regular and exemplary criteria. Meanwhile, they have also promptly organized training sessions in all fields at port. Concluding the competition and festival, the organizing panel awarded two second and two third prizes to the winners.

This was an occasion for the unit’s leaders to evaluate troops’ competence in ensuring regular and exemplary standards of ships and the technical sector, while assessing troops’ competence and ability, thereby mapping out programs and measures for training, as well as ship maintenance work in Brigade 125 in the coming time.

* On August 2, the Department of Army Air Defense under the Air Defense - Air Force (ADAF) Service launched a competition for Commanding officers of Anti-Aircraft Artillery, Air Defense Machine Gun Battalions in 2023.

The event was attended by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien, Commander of the ADAF Service.

The theoretical category includes the regulations in staff and command as well as combat training; Order 750/CL-TM, issued on September 11, 2021 by the Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army on addressing issues in protecting national sea and islands; and regulations of the General Staff on combat readiness of the ADAF Service, among others.

They also compete in the features of weapons and equipment of army air defense forces and of other air forces in the world.

In the practical content, participants join various events such as using their assigned equipment and weapons and identifying aircraft; practicing military decision making process and reports of air defense battalions and air defense machine gun battalions.

The competition aims to evaluate the qualification and organizational capacity of command and control, the ability to conduct combat advisory and training work of the battalion commanding officers and members of the combat crew, anti-aircraft artillery battalion, anti-aircraft machine guns of the army air defense force. The lessons learnt will help commanding officers of agencies and units direct training to improve the professional qualifications for troops at all levels, meeting all task requirements in the current context.

Addressing the event, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien affirmed that to reach good outcomes during training, it is necessary to train and educate troops to have good competence and high determination.

He requested the organizing panel to strictly conduct the competition as scheduled with good quality. Meanwhile, participants were requested to follow all directives and instructions of the higher levels and the competition and flexibly apply what they have learnt from the competition to reality.

The event is scheduled to last until August 5.
