Military Region 5 assigns mission to forces joining U.N. peacekeeping operations
PANO - The leadership of Military Region 5 organized a meeting on April 3 in Da Nang to assign tasks to military medical and engineering forces to be deployed to the Level-two Field Hospital Rotation 6 in South Sudan and the Engineering Company Rotation 3 for U.N. peacekeeping duties in 2024.
In compliance with the decision of the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region 5 has deployed 13 military personnel to U.N. peacekeeping missions. These personnel include officers and staff from the Foreign Relations Division of Military Region 5; the provincial Military Commands of Dak Nong, Quang Ngai, Ninh Thuan; Engineer Brigades 270, 280; and Military Hospital 13 of the Department of Logistics of Military Region 5.

During the meeting, Major General Truong Hong Quang, Deputy Chief of Staff of Military Region 5, delegated duties to the military personnel. He highlighted the challenges and obstacles in executing missions overseas, underlining the soldiers' duty to acknowledge their honor and responsibility as representatives of Military Region 5 and the Vietnamese People's Army involved in international missions.
Each person must embody a pro-active attitude, strong sense of duty, unity, eagerness to learn, adhere to discipline, and meet mission requirements when serving in U.N. peacekeeping operations. By doing so, they will uphold the esteemed reputation of Vietnamese troops.
