* On February 17, localities of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, and Quang Tri provinces held ceremonies to hand over new enlistees to military units.

This year, the military service councils at all levels of the provinces have strictly carried out the recruitment work so as to select those meeting all criteria to serve in the military.

Meanwhile, the localities have promoted information dissemination on the task of national construction and defense among people of all walks of life and strictly followed instructions in implementing the recruitment work, ensuring equality, democracy, publicity, and in compliance with the law.

Thanks to thorough preparation, the quality of new enlistees this year is higher than in previous years. All the new enlistees received at least two COVID-19 vaccine doses and were required to test negative for SARS-CoV-2 before heading to the units.

* On February 16-17, Division 968 under Military Region 4 received youths from 12 districts, towns, and cities of the two provinces of Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue, ensuring absolute safety and meeting set targets.

After receiving recruits, the division conducted different pandemic prevention measures, including disinfecting recruits, checking their body temperature.

This year, of youths chosen for military service, 55% are high school graduates and 4% have university and college degrees while 0.5 % are Party members. 100% of the enlisted youths were required to test negative for SARS-CoV-2 using RT-PCR.

* Previously on February 16, localities of Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh and Thua Thien Hue held see-off ceremonies for new enlistees.

To date, six provinces under Military Region 4 have completed the handover of recruits, meeting set targets and ensuring absolute safety.
