According to a report from the Center for Consultation, Survey, and Design under the Engineering Corps, the Tran Hung Dao Special National Relic Site is situated in a mountainous area, with construction projects near streams. Heavy rains from Typhoon Yagi overwhelmed the drainage system, resulting in water seepage in the central courtyard of the relic site and at the hill's base, which caused surface subsidence in several areas, including the site’s reception area.

During the inspection, Lt. Gen. Nguyen Hong Thai urged relevant agencies and units to coordinate closely, conduct thorough surveys, and devise temporary solutions to prevent further serious landslides. He emphasized the need to first address the surface subsidence in the courtyard and reception area, clear drainage systems, construct additional drainage channels in high slope areas, and reinforce weak soil areas with retaining walls.

The Commander of Military Region 1 also stressed that safety must be prioritized during the construction, with each step completed thoroughly. The repair work must be finished by October 2024 to accommodate visitors and activities commemorating the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the All-People's National Defense Festive Day (December 22, 1989 - 2024).
