In preparation for the tropical depression developing near the East Sea (South China Sea), on September 16, the Office of the National Committee for Incident, Disaster Response, and Search and Rescue issued an emergency dispatch, requesting the Civil Defense Command of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and coastal localities from Quang Ninh to Binh Thuan to strictly maintain watch duty ready for search and rescue operations; closely follow the developments of the tropical depression and dangerous weather conditions; review and supplement plans; and prepare forces and vehicles to effectively and promptly respond to incidents, natural disasters, and conduct search and rescue operations, ensuring safety for agencies, units, and personnel on duty.

* The same day, the Military Region 1 Command deployed over 300 officers and soldiers, along with 15 vehicles, to continue searching for two missing persons and assist people in Yen Lac and Ca Thanh communes, Nguyen Binh district, Cao Bang province in stabilizing their life. 

Meanwhile, the Military Region 2 Command sent more than 9,800 troops and militiamen and 159 vehicles to work with other forces in searching for missing persons in Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district of Lao Cai; Minh Xuan commune of Luc Yen district of Yen Bai; Tan Phuong commune of Thanh Thuy district and Van Xuan commune of Tam Nong district of Phu Tho province, and support local people in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

Nearly 6,600 troops and militiamen and 34 vehicles of the Military Region 3 Command were deployed to help people in Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, Hai Duong, and Hung Yen provinces and cities overcome the aftermath of natural disasters. Army Corps 12 deployed over 9,100 officers and soldiers, 312 vehicles, and 15 boats to assist local people in dealing with the consequences of natural disasters.

In performing tasks to help the people of flood-hit districts and town of Hanoi, the Capital Command deployed nearly 3,500 troops and militiamen and 134 vehicles to participate in disaster recovery efforts.

The Vietnam Border Guard Command sent over 1,200 officers and soldiers and 70 vehicles to coordinate with forces and local authorities to search for missing persons and assist people in Hai Phong city and the districts of Bat Xat, Muong Khuong, Si Ma Cai, and Bao Yen of Lao Cai province in overcoming the aftermath of natural disasters.

The Navy deployed 550 officers and soldiers and 23 vehicles to help people recover from the impact of natural disasters in Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city.
