Themed "Vietnamese Press - Pioneering, Innovation for the Revolutionary Cause of the Party and People," the three-day event brought together 63 VJA’s chapters from 63 cities and provinces, as well as central and local press agencies nationwide, with hundreds of booths displaying their outstanding publications in 2023 and the first quarter of this year.
Along with exhibitions, the National Press Festival 2024 held a national press forum for the first time, drawing the participation of more than 60 speakers who were experienced journalists, leaders of leading press agencies in Vietnam, and reputable international communications experts. The forum included 10 sessions, discussing hot topics: enhancing the Party’s leadership and orientation in journalistic activities, building a press cultural environment, data journalism and outstanding content strategy, to name but a few.
Attentively, this year’s festival featured 64 booths introducing OCOP products from 50 provinces and cities across the country, contributing to showing the role of domestic media and press in promoting economic development.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Nguyen Trong Nghia stressed that the National Press Festival 2024 contributed to consolidating solidarity among local press agencies and journalist associations, as well as tightening the close ties between the press and people.
He urged press agencies to focus on popularizing the implementation of the socio-economic development tasks, spreading good and compassionate values in society, and bringing the Party, State, and Government’s guidelines, policies and laws into real life, thereby meeting the expectation of all people.
Meanwhile, the press agencies should continue to promote digital transformation, apply modern technology, focus on upgrading facilities and equipment, and enhance innovation and creativity in producing and broadcasting programs and articles, while strengthening the building of a clean and strong Party, constantly improving political stance, revolutionary ethics, and professional expertise for journalists, Nghia added.

At the closing ceremony, the organizing panel awarded five A prizes, including the military press; 15 B, 26 C, and 36 consolation prizes in the category of best displaying booths. Especially, the People’s Army Newspaper won C prize in the category "Impressive Tet electronic newspaper interface."
Moreover, the organizing panel handed over certificates of merit to typical units for their contribution to the success of the National Press Festival 2024. After the festival, all displayed Tet publications will be presented to officers and soldiers on duty in Truong Sa island district, Khanh Hoa province.
